Welcome from the Chairman

A warm welcome to everyone either playing or supporting Spalding Town Cricket Club to a new season of cricket in Spalding, in what is my first season as Chairman.

2015 proved to be a difficult season for all at senior level within the club, and after punching above their weight for several seasons the first team finally succumbed to relegation from the Lincs. Premier league.

We start 2016 in a positive mood fielding three senior teams in the South Lincs and Borders league, the first team once again under the experienced captaincy of Rob Ambrose, whom is looking to lead us straight back up into the Lincs. Premier League. He will once again have the support of our second and third team captains, Mike Kearns (Snr) and Richard Gilbert, whom will help bring through some of our many youth members who are challenging for places in the the senior teams. Youth is the future of all clubs along with the guidance of experience!

Our ladies team goes from strength to strength and will again play in the Lincolnshire Womens League under the Captaincy of Hayley Jones, we wish you well for the season ahead.

We have reintroduced a Sunday team to play in the Rutland Sunday League, this team will enable us to nurture and give experience to the burgeoning amount of talent that we have in our junior academy.

The junior academy continues to grow and excel under Academy Director Mark Laud, now in his second season of stewardship, not forgetting the coaches that ably assist him on a weekly basis, giving of their time and knowledge freely, we thank you all immensely.

We are very grateful for the support of our many club sponsors, especially to our new principal sponsor Consilium Wealth, we could not survive without you all.

Hopefully 2016 will be a season to remember, these are exciting times for Spalding Town Cricket Club. We look forward to seeing you ‘down the club’, whether as a player or supporter you will always be given a warm welcome.

Enjoy your summer of cricket!

Andrew
